Cool Down With These Summertime Cocktails

Nothing is more relaxing than sitting poolside with a drink in your hand, with no worries or stress. With that time of the year almost here, we’ve decided to put together a list of some sweet summertime cocktails for a fun and fresh afternoon.

Orange Creamsicle

As a child, one of your favorite treats was an orange creamsicle on a hot summer day. Now you can enjoy the childhood classic but with a twist! For this cocktail, you’ll need:

  • 1 1/2 ounces vanilla or whipped cream vodka
  • 1/2 ounce triple sec
  • 4 ounces orange juice
  • 4 ounces half and half
  • Ice

First, add the vodka, triple sec, and ice to a mixing glass, filling the rest of the glass with equal parts orange juice and half and half. Shake well and strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish your glass with an orange slice, if you’d like, and enjoy!

Fuzzy Navel

Don’t be bothered by the strange name — it’s not actually fuzzy. The fuzzy description comes from the fact that the drink is made with peach schnapps and peaches have fuzzy skin! This classic, and perhaps retro, concoction is sweet and simple, needing only two ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 ounces peach schnapps
  • 4 1/2 ounces Orange juice

In a tall glass filled with ice, pour the peach schnapps first, followed by the orange juice and then mix! That’s all you need to do for this fruity delight!

Hawaiian Iced Tea

This variation of the classic Long Island Iced Tea is the perfect cocktail for a summer BBQ. You’ll need quite a few ingredients for this refresher, but don’t worry, it’s easy to make. Gather the following:

  • 1/2 ounce vodka
  • 1/2 ounce light rum
  • 1/2 ounce tequila
  • 1/2 ounce gin
  • 1/2 ounce triple sec
  • 1 ounce sour mix
  • 2 ounces pineapple juice

Once you have everything, all you need to do is fill a large glass with ice and add each ingredient before stirring well. Garnish with a pineapple slice, if you’d like, sit back, and relax!

Mojito

For something refreshing to sip on, look no further than a Mojito. This cocktail isn’t as fruity as the others but it’s still delicious in its own way. To make the perfect one, you’ll need:

  • 2 ounces light rum
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 6 to 8 fresh mint leaves
  • Club soda
  • 1 lime (cut into two halves)
  • Mint sprig

Begin by adding the sugar, mint leaves, and a splash of club soda to a glass and muddle well. To muddle, you essentially crush up the ingredients. Take the two halves of the lime and squeeze them into the glass, dropping one of the halves in when you are finished. Next, add the rum, stir, and fill with ice. Lastly, top off with club soda and garnish with the mint sprig!

We hope you enjoy these summer suggestions and the warm weather that is on its way!
