2020 Fall Wine Dinner Trilogy

One of the most popular fall activities in Northeastern Pennsylvania is gathering together with friends and venturing out to find a wine tasting festival or even hosting your own. Keeping social distancing guidelines in mind, we at Kevin’s Bar & Restaurant want to ensure this fall tradition can continue. In September, we will be hosting wine dinners, each with their own unique theme and all at an acceptable social distance.

Exploring the California Coast – Wine Dinners

The dates for the first of the three wine dinners will be September 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. The theme will be Exploring the California Coast and will feature a 4-course meal complemented by specially chosen wines.

Course 1

The first course served during the wine dinner will consist of fresh Kumamoto oyster, cactus pear, and cantaloupe, all within a grilled flour tortilla.

This starting course will be served with 2018 Sean Minor Central Coast Chardonnay. This wine is the perfect starter as its flavors include fresh hints of apple and pear.

Course 2

Once you’ve finished the first wine dinner course, you’ll be presented with the second dish. This wedge salad is crafted with bibb lettuce hearts, pancetta, Point Reyes blue cheese dressing, and heirloom tomatoes.

As you enjoy your second course, you’ll receive a glass of 2017 Montoya Central Coast Pinot Noir. This wine contains bright flavors of blackberry and raspberry, nicely complementing the second course of the dinner.

Course 3

Already halfway through your wine dinner, it’s time for the third course. This savory yet sweet dish boasts a crispy pork belly, served with a California almond and black mission fig jam.

The wine accompanying the third course will be 2017 Sean Minor “Nicole Marie” North Coast Red Blend. This bold, ruby-red wine has a spiced flavor consisting of red berry, dark cherry, and black pepper, with hints of oak.

Course 4

Saving the best for last, the final course of the wine dinner is a skirt steak carne asada, served with garbanzo beans, sauteed spinach, red rice, and street corn.

A glass of 2017 Aquinas North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon will be presented alongside the dish. This final wine is medium-bodied and has a deep, yet bright fruit flavor, along with a hint of herbs, a perfect end to your night out with your loved ones.
