Unique Autumn Brews Across America
Although we still have a few weeks of summer left, the return of pumpkin spice at coffee chains nationwide last week unofficially kicked off the autumn season in many people’s minds. Perhaps the best part about America jumping the gun when it comes to fall activities and foods is that we get to enjoy autumn brews while partaking in summer activities, such as spending a day at the lake or having a backyard BBQ. Check out this list of fall beers across America that are sure to make the cut for every outing for the rest of the year.
Manayunk Brewing Company’s Yunkin’ Pumpkin
Starting off with the classic pumpkin beer, this autumn brew comes from the Manayunk Brewing Company, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Roadtrip, anyone? Now, this brew isn’t a sickly sweet beer that’s made with a fake pumpkin flavoring — this ale is crafted with fresh, real pumpkin, giving it an earthy taste. To complement this strong taste, it’s spiced with nutmeg, allspice, and cinnamon.
Harpoon Brewery’s Flannel Friday
Located in the New England Area and distributed in various states across the country, Harpoon Brewery is home to the Flannel Friday. This roasted amber ale tastes of caramel with slight hints of citrus and will have you wishing you were sitting around the fire with friends on a cool autumn evening.
Breckenridge Brewery’s Nitro Pumpkin Spice Latte
Colorado’s Breckenridge Brewery is doing pumpkin spice lattes right! This autumn brew is crafted with carefully roasted, cold-pressed coffee beans and dark roasted malts. But it doesn’t stop there — along with the rich pumpkin taste, it’s also flavored with vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Great Notion Brewing’s Blueberry Cobbler Muffin
This Oregon autumn brew from Great Notion Brewing is a collaboration with Southern Grist Brewing Company and brings the taste of grandma’s Sunday dinner desserts with every sip. It contains strong notes of tart blueberry, along with sweet vanilla and pie crust flavors.
Good Word Brewing’s Hollow Moon
Another autumn brew on the sweet side, this stout from Good Word Brewing in Georgia is as warm as it is smooth. Crafted with toasted coconut, cocoa nibs, and vanilla, the perfect time to sip on this after a nice, big dinner while you’re curled up next to a fire with a good book.
Black Project Spontaneous & Wild Ales’ Warpower
Based in Denver, Colorado, Black Project is the creator of a variety of beers, such as Warpower. This sour brew is created by blending spontaneous ales before aging it on Montmorency and Balaton cherries. Finished with a blackberry flavor, this tart beer is perfect for fall afternoon spent in the backyard.
